One of the biggest comebacks last year was that of Ipswich emo-punk titans Basement, with the long awaited release of “Promise Everything” just over a year ago, the bands 3rd LP after coming back from a hiatus. Earlier today, Basement announced via their Facebook page that a lot had been going on behind the scenes, and in short, expressed their gratitude to previous label Run for Cover Records, who have artists such as Turnover, Pinegrove, Modern Baseball, Petal and Tigers Jaw on their roster, but also their excitement for the future with their new label: Fueled By Ramen.
Alongside this announcement the band also stated that they would be releasing a deluxe version of “Promise Everything” on Fueled By Ramen, releasing March 3rd 2017. This deluxe version will include 4 brand new tracks, making the total 14 (building on a record that had already made my top 10 releases of 2016). Even better news is that the title track has had a monstrous re-recording, and sounds much more refined, punchy and driven. Take a listen below:
“When we recorded the album Promise Everything we didn’t have the luxury of time. The concept of sitting on songs and making sure we were happy with their arrangement was alien to us. With the re-release of the record we felt it was the perfect opportunity to go back to the song we thought was the strongest and make it as good as we could. Here’s the new version of the song “Promise Everything” we came up with!” – Basement’s Facebook post.
Basement now join big names like Panic! At The Disco, twentyonepilots and Paramore with FBR. Having supported Bring Me The Horizon and playing several festivals last year, the band have already announced they will be touring the US with Thursday and Touche Amore, and have a run of UK dates with Higher Power starting the end of this month and running through early March. Check out the dates below, and tickets can be picked up at www.basementuk.com. Eyes are looking to the future.
